Lead Researcher

Dr Lauren Istvandity is an Australian Research Council DECRA Fellow within the Griffith Centre for Social and Cultural Research, and Creative Arts Research Institute at Griffith University.

Lauren researches across the areas of music, critical heritage studies, and wellbeing. She researches with diverse communities and the heritage sector to produce new knowledge and innovative scholarly and creative outcomes.

Dr Zelmarie Cantillon is a Senior Research Fellow and Research Assistant at Griffith University.

Zel is interested in how heritage initiatives can have meaningful impacts on people’s lives in the present. Her research focuses on cultural heritage and cultural policy, with a particular interest in cultural justice and cultural infrastructure.

Early Career Researcher

Melanie Barrett is a PhD student at Griffith University researching creative heritage as a method in collecting institutions in Australia.

Melanie is a conservator with over 15 years experience working in museums and galleries within Australia, Singapore and the United Kingdom, most recently as Senior Conservator, Objects, at the National Gallery of Australia.
